Scholarships and Research Funding
AIA Thailand has supported scholarships for underprivileged students, through the 'Charity for Needy Students' under the Royal Patronage of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. In conjunction with this charity, the 'LICA Foundation (Thailand)', established by AIA agents, also grants annual scholarships to needy students. Moreover, the company continually supports scholarships for students of the Mathematics Department, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, as well as research scholarships for the 'Prince Mahidol Award Foundation' under Royal Patronage.
AIA School Libraries
To promote equal opportunities for education, every year since 2005, AIA has built fully-equipped, 54-square meter libraries for schools in rural areas, so promoting life-long education for teachers, students and people living in outlying communities.
AIA Shares the Knowledge 'Cherishes the Dream Campaign':
To mark the 70th anniversary of its operations in Thailand in 2008, AIA Thailand introduced a program entitled ‘AIA Shares the Knowledge, Cherishes the Dream’ to encourage Thais to donate books through AIA’s donation boxes, thus stimulating the educational dreams of needy Thai students. Donation boxes located at AIA Tower, partner B2S bookstores and leading universities collected almost 70,000 books within three months. These books have since been donated to 27 charitable foundations and 7 AIA School Libraries across the country to help bring knowledge and educational tools to Thai youths.
AIA Child Center
AIA Thailand has established Child Centers at the Pediatrics Departments of Chulalongkorn Hospital, Phramongkutklao Hospital and Ramathibodi Hospital. The centers are fully equipped with child development facilities to promote education and learning among young patients in the hospitals.
