How does a watch know that we are stressed? The brain is interconnected with the heart.
All-day stress can cause ‘irregular interval between heart beats’ or officially called Heart Rate Variability [HRV]. The smartwatch can then monitor HRV from the heart rate.
However, the stress level function tracks the heart rate differently from regular beats. You need to be in the ‘regular mode,’ which means you cannot track the stress results while working out or while your body is on the move.
For daily monitoring, you can just track the stress level widget in the evening or before going to bed, it does not necessarily have to be hourly. The stress level and the average result and statistic can also be tracked at the Garmin Connect application.
