*The Vitality Bonus rate for each policy year is determined based on the insured’s AIA Vitality status, for insured persons aged 16 years and above. The applicable rate ranges from 0% up to a maximum of 20% of the standard premium for critical illness riders, and up to a maximum of 15% of the standard premium for medical expense and daily compensation riders, based on premiums already paid by the insured, provided that all conditions specified in the relevant policy endorsement are met. Any such changes will be notified to the insured in writing at least thirty (30) days in advance.

Q: Will existing customers who hold an AIA Vitality Protection policy (renewal premium discount) receive the Vitality Bonus?
A:
Existing customers who hold insurance policies participating in the AIA Vitality Protection Program (renewal premium discount based on status), with policies approved before 25 September 2025, will continue to receive policy benefits under the program according to the AIA Vitality endorsement they received as illustrated in the reference image.
The discount rate is calculated as a percentage based on the AIA Vitality status as follows: Latest policy year discount rate + adjustment rate according to AIA Vitality status (Bronze -2%, Silver -1%, Gold +1%, Platinum +2%)
Q: How can I determine which AIA Vitality policy benefits apply to my Critical Illness rider or Medical Expenses / Daily Hospital Income rider?
A:
You can determine this by checking the policy issue date and the type of your policy:
Policy issue date between 2 June 2016 and 15 August 2018, under AIA Vitality Package, renewal premium discounts are provided based on accumulated AIA Vitality status, with a maximum discount of 25%.
Policy issue date between 16 August 2018 and 24 September 2025, under AIA Vitality Protection, renewal premium discounts are provided based on accumulated AIA Vitality status, with a maximum discount of 15% for medical expense and daily compensation riders and 25% for critical illness riders.
Policy issue date from 25 September 2025 onwards, under AIA Vitality Bonus, annual cashback is provided, with a maximum of 15% of the standard premium for medical expense and daily compensation riders and up to 20% of the standard premium for critical illness riders.
Q: For AIA Vitality policies with renewal premium discounts, if a billing notice has already been issued but the AIA Vitality status is subsequently upgraded, how will the premium discount be handled?
A:
For existing customers holding AIA Vitality Protection policies (renewal premium discount based on status), if a billing notice has been issued with the premium calculated based on the AIA Vitality status as of the billing date (approximately 30 days before the policy anniversary), the customer should pay the premium as stated in the billing notice.
If the customer’s AIA Vitality status is upgraded as of the policy anniversary date, the Company will refund the premium difference that was overpaid via AIAPAY (or by crossed cheque if AIAPAY is not registered) within 60 days after the policy anniversary date.
